China's solar industry

China is rich in solar energy resources and has a bright future for solar energy utilization. China is located in the northern hemisphere, with a distance of more than 5,000 kilometers from north to south and from east to west. In China's vast land, there are abundant solar energy resources. The annual average solar radiation in most areas is more than 4 kWh per square meter, and the highest solar radiation in Tibet is 7 kWh per square meter. The annual sunshine hours are more than 2,000 hours. China's theoretical reserves of solar energy resources amount to 1,700 billion tons of standard coal per year, which is similar to that of the United States and much superior to that of Europe and Japan compared with other countries at the same latitude, and thus has enormous development potential, and the potential for development and utilization is very broad.

If these solar energy are all used for power generation, about equal to tens of thousands of the Three Gorges Project power generation. China has begun to promote solar photovoltaic power generation system, by 2010, China's solar photovoltaic power generation capacity will reach 40 million kilowatts, 2020 will reach 2.2 million kilowatts, visible in China's photovoltaic power generation market potential is very huge [3].
China's solar energy utilization into a large-scale practical stage of the conditions have matured. China has become the world's largest producer of solar consumer products, the formation of a vast rural solar photovoltaic products consumer market, grid-connected solar photovoltaic power station and building roofs and grid-connected solar photovoltaic power generation project has also begun to start. 2002-2005, China's photovoltaic industry has developed rapidly, and has become the world's photovoltaic industry and one of the fastest-growing market countries.
Over the past 20 years, China's PV industry has maintained a long-term share of about 1% of the global market. 2003 and 2004 saw a substantial increase in China's production of solar modules, which amounted to 12,000 kilowatts (kW), or about 2.2% of the world's share in 2003, and 35,000 kW in 2004, or about 3% of the world's share.
