HUAWEI RANKED FIRST IN INVERTER SUPPLY IN 2021

China's Huawei has been ranked the world's largest inverter supplier for the seventh consecutive year, followed by Sungrow and Growatt, according to Wood Mackenzie's report.

The two companies have held the top spot since 2016, with Huawei holding the top spot for seven consecutive years. Global shipments of pv inverters reached 225,3GWac in 2021, an increase of 22% over 2021.

"Huawei's market share remained stable at 23% in 2021, while Sungrow grew to around 21% from around 19% in 2020, following closely behind," the analyst noted. Third-place Growatt, with 7% of the market, displaced SMA, which fell to sixth place. The top three vendors together control more than half of the global solar PV inverter market."

GoodWe jumped four places in 2021 to fifth place, thanks to strong shipments to the Asia-Pacific region, particularly China and South Korea, according to Wood Mackenzie. "Israel's SolarEdge entered the top 10 for the first time -- it was ninth in 2021, adding about 1,000 MW."

Last year, the Asia-Pacific region was again the largest market, accounting for more than half of all shipments. Europe's share is 23% and America's is 14%.
