To help address this critical issue, ComCam has teamed with Susquehanna Computer Innovations to develop a command van to meet the needs of the emergency services community.
The first operational van was supplied to the Williamsport [PA] Regional Airport under contract from the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Administration [PEMA]. In addition to meeting traditional emergence-services needs, Williamsport will be using the van as part of its crowd control activities at events such as the Little League World Series.
The van is manufactured by LDV, the leader in homeland security vehicles. However, it has been enhanced by Susquehanna with the addition of ComCam’s fixed- and wireless-video communications capabilities. These capabilities consist of an integrated package of on-board, mobile, body-worn and all-weather rapid-deployed (with pan, tilt, zoom) cameras. These capabilities empower first responders with the ability not only to monitor a disaster situation both in the van and on the ground in real time, but supply video communications updates and real-time feeds to those in the field as well as those at HQ or city hall or the White House.
Susquehanna is providing overall command & control functions, incorporating ComCam’s “C3” software to integrate a mesh radio network to receive and/or send video from either onboard or remote cameras to a PC/laptop or a handheld PDA/cell phone device across the network.
